White Plains Living
 White Plains is one of the largest business and retail centers in the nation. Government offices and courts for the nation, state and county are located here, along with headquarters for Fortune 500 companies. The centerpiece of downtown is the fountain in Renaissance Plaza. While the Plaza itself is a stand-out among the new and refurbished areas in downtown, the fountain characterizes the City of White Plains commitment to future growth. Holding nearly 48,000 gallons of recycled water, the state-of-the-art fountain features 75 water jets shooting water 15 feet in the air, 24 water jets spouting water 25 feet in the air, and three super jets sending water 60 feet high. There are also 13 jets that send water leaping from one pool to another. Fountain shows run every 20 minutes and last three to five minutes. A fog machine, 160 lights and a sound system add to the excitement. Other exciting downtown areas include White Plains City Center with its 15 screen movie multiplex, the Westchester Mall, Fortunoff, Westchester Arts Council, and The Performing Arts Center at White Plains. The recently completed Ritz Carleton Hotel and Residences is included among several well established fine hotels, restaurants, stores, cultural venues and office buildings, adding to the vibrant downtown residential space.
